Boat and Bike in Croatia. Take a thrilling week with us to Croatia's georgeous islands.

About us

Calypso, a sea nymph from Greek mythology, is the inspiration for our travel agency.

We organize weeklong cruises through the Adriatic on Croatian tour boats. The boat serves as our hotel, restaurant, means of transportation, and a base for our activities. During the weeklong trip, the boat sails about 200 nautical miles (370 km) and we get to know a big piece of the Adriatic. Of course, we will visit the coastline and larger islands common for seaside vacations, but we’ll also seek out islands, islets and remote coves and bays virtually impossible to get to without a boat.

Our cruises are built upon the knowledge and abilities of Croatian sea captains. Expert support and a team of guides and trainers ensure that our cruises provide smooth sailing.

This year we are offering four basic cruises: classic relaxation, yoga, cycling, and mountain biking. But if your group has its own special cruise idea, we’ll be happy to organize a trip for you for a date not included in our regular schedule.

From spinning to setting sail

It all began with spinning. I opened a spinning center four years ago, and welcomed neighbors, friends, acquaintances, and strangers. As the weather cooled in late October, cyclists stored their bikes for the winter and began appearing for my spinning classes. During the inclement days of November, mountain bikers began attending as well. In the friendly atmosphere of the spinning center, I listened to stories of the adventures they took when they didn’t have to resort to spinning: I was most excited by tales of the Adriatic coast. You see, I love warm weather and distant lands, and feel like I must get to the seaside at least twice a year.

So my friends from the spinning center and I set off with our bikes to the Adriatic. I was surprised to discover how popular the boat/bike combination is. Most other cyclists sailing the Adriatic came from the Czech Republic, Germany, and Slovenia. I became passionate about boating: it’s a completely different way to experience a seaside vacation! A different place every day, with picturesque ports and coves far from the overcrowded beaches.

After going on several cruises I began thinking about what it would take to organize such cruises myself. I discovered it requires nothing more than a good boat and crew – and I was able to find them. For the 2011 season, I came to an agreement with two captains who own their own boats. In the northern Adriatic we’ll set sail with the Miki to the Kvarner and northern Dalmatia region; the Ščedro will take us to central and southern Dalmatia.

Alena Brentová, guide and travel agency owner

Bikes and boats were made for each other. But boats and cruises can be combined with other activities as well. A friend of mine, Helena, and I decided to put together a cruise focused on exercising yoga. Just imagine yoga at the seashore, morning and evening, a different place every day! Top it off with sunning on deck, swimming, and healthy food. In 2011, we are organizing bike cruises, yoga cruises, and classic relaxation cruises geared towards swimming and sightseeing. But we needn’t stop there: scuba cruises and cruises with aerobics, jumping, and geo-caching are all possibilities – and who knows what else. Come up with your own good idea and we’ll help you make it a reality. Future cruises won’t be limited to the Adriatic. After all, Calypso is at home in the Aegean and Ionian Seas…

Come sail with Calypso on a sea of adventure.

I know you’ll find what you’re looking for, and I look forward to meeting you on board!

About us

Yoga on board

Alena is my friend, but she is also a talented and hard-working student. She attends my hatha yoga course. When she came up with the cruise idea, we quite naturally began talking about offering yoga on board. We investigated the possibilities while on the Adriatic. The captain of the Miki understood what we wanted and suggested cruises that would enable seaside pranayama and yoga classes on the

stone jetties and piers of picturesque little ports and pebble-strewn beaches far from the crowds. The daily routine and meals will be tailored to our needs. Yoga on board, sun and sea – what an incredible combination.

I started practicing yoga years ago and began fully devoting myself to it during a two-year stay in India where I attended numerous courses in yoga, Ayurveda, Buddhism, and meditation. Some of the most memorable include Yoga Acharya (Master of Yoga, Sivananda Ashram Netala, Himalayas, India); Yoga Shiromani (Sivananda Ashram Neyyar Dam, Kerala, India); and yoga seminars in the USA, Moscow, Istanbul, India, Prague, Vienna, and London (e.g. Tushita Meditation Center, Dharamshala, India).

I look forward to doing asanas with you at the seaside.
